The driving force behind LeveragED is the experience, knowledge, and commitment of our team. We are inspired by a shared vision: empowering leaders to develop and refine their strategic vision, grow organizational capacity, and optimize what leads to the best possible outcomes and experiences for all students.

Prior to LeveragED, Meghan co-founded Zeta Charter Schools in 2018, and served as Principal, MD of Schools, and MD of the Education Institute for Success Academy Charter Schools from 2012-2017. Previously, Meghan developed educational software and student information systems, wrote curriculum, taught ELA, and helped found three charter schools in Boston (1997), Trenton (2005), and the Bronx (2006). Meghan received a B.A. in Art History from Stanford University and an M.A. in Education from the University of San Francisco. She serves on the boards of Mott Haven Academy Charter School and Ethical Culture Fieldston School, as well as the Advisory Council for the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Meghan founded LeveragED because she believes that excellent schools are built and sustained by great leaders with strategic vision. She loves to juggle the challenges of optimization and scale, and is passionate about bringing out the best in people and developing cohesive teams. As our team leader, she pushes us to build capacity in ourselves and our partners.
Vanessa began her career as a special education teacher through Teach for America and remained at P.S. 42 in the Bronx as an intervention specialist before joining Success Academy Charter Schools in 2009. There, as a founding principal, her school was recognized for both its academics (in the top 1% in New York State) and culture (as the first Bronx school to win a Blackboard award). Vanessa then led advocacy, talent development, recruitment, and community relations initiatives in her role as Director of Special Projects. In her most recent role as Managing Director for Elementary Schools at KIPP NYC, Vanessa led the network to a 12% increase in state test scores. Vanessa also worked as a mental health worker for a juvenile in-patient psychiatric hospital and is currently a therapeutic foster parent. Vanessa received her B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Teaching Students with Disabilities from Pace University, and her Ed.M. in Leadership for Educational Change from Bank Street College of Education. Vanessa believes in leading with people first and is able to quickly make connections, diagnose root causes, and build the capacity of our partners to make their vision a reality. Vanessa helps our team think big and keeps our white boards filled with great ideas.
